Chicago-based Hyatt Hotels Corporation on Thursday announced a pipeline of eight new hotels in India and Southwest Asia that are expected to open in 2024, including a foray into Bangladesh and the introduction of Hyatt Centric brand in Calcutta.
Under the Hyatt Regency brand, openings are lined up in Kasauli and Ghaziabad. The Hyatt Place brand is expected to enter three new locations —Aurangabad, Haridwar, and Dhaka in Bangladesh. The Hyatt Centric brand will expand its portfolio with two new openings in Bangalore and Calcutta.
“With an aim to expand the presence of its luxury and lifestyle brands in India, the hospitality major also marked the strategic entry of the JdV by Hyatt with the opening of Ronil Goa. This is the ninth brand of Hyatt in India with the others being — Andaz, Alia, Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Hyatt, Hyatt Centric and Hyatt Place,” said Sunjae Sharma, managing director, India and Southwest Asia, Hyatt.
“Over 900 keys are expected to be added across these eight properties this year.
“Southwest Asia continues to demonstrate high growth potential and is among the top global growth markets for Hyatt. We have strong expansion plans for 2024 across our portfolio encompassing our legacy brands such as Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Place and Hyatt Centric across destinations that will strengthen our brand presence in key markets,” Sharma said
In 2023, Hyatt had expanded its presence in India with openings in Bodh Gaya, Vijayawada, Goa, Dehradun. Globally, Hyatt has more than 1,300 hotels in 76 countries.
Park expansion
Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels has added the fourth hotel under its fold in Bengal at Digha. The Zone by The Park property will have 65 rooms and is adjoining the convention centre.
Zone by The Park is one of the six brands of Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels and is positioned at the upper midscale level. The brand has presence in Coimbatore, Jaipur, Chennai, Bangalore, Jodhpur, Jammu, Calcutta, Jodhpur and Gopalpur
