Accenture has announced a change in its leadership in India. The professional services firm said Rekha Menon, senior managing director and chairperson for Accenture in India will retire as of June 30, 2023 after a 20-year-career with the company.
Accenture has now decided to split the duties of the chairperson by creating a new role of country managing director and appointed Ajay Vij from within to that post. Sandeep Dutta will take over as the lead for its India Market Unit.
Accenture said in a statement that as country managing director, Ajay Vij will expand his current responsibilities as the corporate services and sustainability lead for India to provide overall leadership and drive decision making for key company priorities.
Sandeep Dutta, currently India sales lead, will now be responsible for driving business and operations in the domestic market, focussing on growth, market differentiation and clients in his new role.
He will also be responsible for working with local business communities and represent the company with local industry and trade bodies, Accenture said.
