CESC Ltd has recorded a meagre 2.8 per cent rise in profit after tax at ₹373 crore in Q2FY25 compared with ₹363 crore in the same period of the last fiscal on a consolidated basis. Gross revenue went up 8.1 per cent to ₹4,770 crore in Q2FY25 compared with ₹4,414 crore in the second quarter of FY2024.
The company said that the Calcutta distribution division has started the recovery of fuel and power purchase adjustment surcharge (FPPAS) arising on account of a variation in the price of fuel and power purchase cost from the June 2024 billing month.
While Calcutta distribution, the crown jewel of the company, Haldia Energy Ltd, Dhariwal Infrastructure and Noida Power showed resilient performance, profitability of the Rajasthan distribution franchisees and Malegaon DF in Maharashtra continued to remain under pressure due to high transmission and distribution losses.
Eveready net up 16%
Battery and flashlights maker Eveready Industries India Ltd on Tuesday reported a 16.2 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit at ₹29.56 crore for the second quarter ended September 2024.
The company had posted a net profit of ₹25.44 crore in the July-September period a year ago, according to an exchange filing from the Burman family-promoted firm.
However, its revenue from operations was marginally down at ₹362.61 crore during the quarter under review. It was at ₹364.89 crore in the September quarter in the year-ago period.
Bosch profit falls 46%
Auto components firm Bosch on Tuesday said its consolidated net profit declined 46 per cent year-on-year to ₹536 crore in the September 2024 quarter.
The company reported a net profit of ₹1,000 crore in the July-September quarter of last fiscal.
Revenue from operations increased to ₹4,394 crore in the second quarter compared with ₹4,130 crore in the year-ago period.
