Car sales continue to remain sluggish in February with M&M, Honda, Tata Motors and Hyundai reporting double-digit decline in sales.
Sales of Maruti Suzuki India fell 1.1 per cent in February 2020 at 1,47,110 units against 1,48,682 last year. Sales of mini cars were up 11.1 per cent, while that of the compact segment fell 3.9 per cent.
Hyundai Motor India Ltd reported a 10.3 per cent decline in total sales at 48,910 units in February against 54,518 units in the same month last year.
M&M’s sales plunged 42 per cent to 32,476 units in February.
Honda Cars India saw a 46.26 per cent drop in domestic sales at 7,269 units In February compared with 13,527 units a year ago. Tata Motors reported a decline of 34 per cent in domestic sales at 38,002 units against 57,221 units in the same month last year.

Sales of mini cars, comprising Alto and WagonR, stood at 27,499 units compared with 24,751 units in the same month last year, up 11.1 per cent. Sales in the compact segment declined 3.9 per cent to 69,828 units from 72,678 cars in February last year.
