Bengal: Jain Group plans to build 20 million square feet of residential development by 2030

The developer says the market is ripe for a rapid scale-up in business both on the residential and hospitality side

Realtor Jain Group has laid out an ambitious plan to build 20 million square feet of residential development by 2030 and 5-6 hotels in Bengal.

The developer says the market is ripe for a rapid scale-up in business both on the residential and hospitality side.

“The demand is good and I don’t see any roadblock to reach our target. Moreover, our real estate business now has zero debt which gives us more confidence to move ahead,” Rishi Jain, managing director of the Jain group, said.

He was speaking after the launch of a child-centric project Dream Gurukul, a 4.5 lakh square feet project in Madhyamgram.The group would launch two bungalow projects in and around Calcutta over the next six months.

However, the Jain group, which has delivered a 3.5 million square feet residential project, would remain focused on the affordable segment.

The group, which owns the Holiday Inn in Rajarhat, will launch another hotel in New Town in the next two-three months.
