Bandhan Bank board approves term extension for CEO Ratan Kumar Kesh by one month

Kesh was elevated as the interim MD and CEO effective from July 10, 2024 for a period of three months after the bank’s erstwhile founder, MD and CEO Chandra Shekhar Ghosh had retired

Bandhan Bank on Saturday said that its board has approved the extension of the term of interim managing director and CEO of the bank, Ratan Kumar Kesh, by one month.

“...pursuant to the approval of the Reserve Bank of India and on the basis of the recommendation of the nomination and remuneration committee, the board of directors of the bank, at its meeting held on October 5 has approved the extension of term of Ratan Kumar Kesh as the interim managing director and CEO of the bank for a period of one month with effect from October 10 or till a new MD & CEO takes charge, whichever is earlier,” the bank said in a stock exchange filing.

Kesh was elevated as the interim MD and CEO effective from July 10, 2024 for a period of three months after the bank’s erstwhile founder, MD and CEO Chandra Shekhar Ghosh had retired.

Since March 31, 2023, he was the executive director and chief operating officer. The bank has been engaged in headhunting for a full time MD and CEO following Ghosh’s retirement, exploring several options both internal and external.
