Auto manufacturers gear up for festive season with new models as sales peak in August

The industry is already witnessing an all-time high in sales with August figures crossing the 3,60,000 units mark. Some makers are offering discounts and exchange benefits in a bid to lure customers

Auto manufacturers are making a beeline to introduce new models and variants with a host of features ahead of the festive season.

The industry is already witnessing an all-time high in sales with August figures crossing the 3,60,000 units mark.

Some makers are offering discounts and exchange benefits in a bid to lure customers.

After a hiatus of several years, Honda Cars India has launched a mid-size SUV, Elevate, at an introductory price range of Rs 10.99 lakh to Rs 15.99 lakh.

According to the company, bookings for the Elevate have already run into a waiting period of six months.

The company has started deliveries of the Elevate across its dealerships in the country.

Speaking about the launch, Takuya Tsumura, president & CEO of Honda Cars India Ltd, said, “With the Honda Elevate, we make a foray into one of India’s most exciting auto segments. It holds the potential to become a key pillar of Honda’s business in India.”

The Elevate is powered by a 1.5L i-VTEC DOHC petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed continuously variable transmission (CVT). Honda Elevate is E20 material compatible (up to 20 per cent Ethanol Blended Petrol).

Hyundai Motor India, in its efforts to democratise advanced safety features, has introduced advanced drivers assistance systems (ADAS) technology on Venue and Venue N Line.

The company says it offers the most affordable SUVs with ADAS.

Skoda Auto India is offering festive pricing, exchange benefits and corporate plans for its SUV Kushaq Plus and sedan Slavia Ambition Plus.

Merc unveils EV concept

Mercedes Benz has globally unveiled a new electric Concept, the Concept CLA Class, at the AAI Mobility 2023 in Munich.

This is the first vehicle with the new Mercedes Benz Modular Architecture with a range of more than 750 km.

The company also premièred the new E-Class All-Terrain, the new EQA, EQB and EQV besides announcing the Mercedes Benz charging network.
