Adani Enterprises — the flagship firm of Gautam Adani’s conglomerate — on Tuesday posted a nearly eight-fold rise in net profit in the September quarter on strong earnings from airports and new energy units that offset the drag from coal trading.
Net profit of ₹1,741 crore in July-September was up 663 per cent over ₹228 crore earning in the same period of last year. EBITDA was up 46 per cent at ₹4,354 crore, while revenue rose 15 per cent to ₹23,196 crore.
Except for the coal business, the firm’s other main businesses saw growth in both the top and bottomline. Adani New Industries — the unit that holds the energy business of solar module and wind turbines — saw a 78 per cent jump in pre-tax profit to ₹1,121 crore, while the same in the airport business were up 31 per cent at ₹744 crore.
Adani Ports net up 37%
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) on Tuesday reported a 37 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at ₹2,413.54 crore for the quarter ended September 2024, mainly on the back of higher revenues.
Consolidated net profit stood at ₹1,762 crore a year ago.
Total income increased to ₹7,372.37 crore from ₹6,951.86 crore in the year-ago quarter.
Marico profit up 20%
Marico on Tuesday reported a 20.27 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at ₹433 crore for the September quarter, helped by volume growth, pricing actions and gains from the sale of fixed assets.
It had posted a net profit of ₹360 crore in the July-September quarter a year ago.
Consolidated revenue from operations was up 7.6 per cent at ₹2,664 crore. It was at ₹2,476 crore a year ago.
Cipla net at ₹1303cr
Drug major Cipla on Tuesday reported a 17 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at ₹1,303 crore for the second quarter ended September 2024, driven by robust sales across markets. The company had reported a net profit of ₹1,115 crore a year ago.
Total income from operations rose to ₹7,051 crore in the second quarter compared with ₹6,490 crore in the year-ago period.
The company’s consumer health business grew 21 per cent year-on-year.
