Adani Enterprises net profit jumps 44 per cent to Rs 676.93 crore for June quarter

Total income fell to Rs 25,809.94 crore from Rs 41,066.43 crore in the year-ago quarter

Adani Enterprises on Thursday posted a 44.41 per cent jump in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) at Rs 676.93 crore for the June quarter 2023-24 on account of reduced expenses.

It had reported a Rs 468.74 crore PAT for the same period a year ago, the company said in a BSE filing.

Total income fell to Rs 25,809.94 crore from Rs 41,066.43 crore in the year-ago quarter.

Expenses also reduced to Rs 24,731.42 crore from Rs 40,433.96 crore a year ago.

“These results are a validation of our group’s robust operational and financial achievements. These outcomes, led by our incubating business of Adani Airports, Adani New Industries, Data Center and Adani Roads not only underscore our history of creating and nurturing new and vital infrastructure businesses but also emphasise the future value and growth potential of the diverse Adani portfolio,” Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani group, said in a separate statement.

Adani Power net jumps

Adani Power Ltd (APL) on Thursday posted an 83.3 per cent jump in its consolidated net profit at Rs 8,759.42 crore for the April-June quarter on account of higher income. It had reported a net profit of Rs 4,779.86 crore in the April-June period of the preceding 2022-23 fiscal, the company said in a BSE filing.

The company’s total income surged to Rs 18,109.01 crore from Rs 15,509 crore in the year-ago quarter. Expenses were at Rs 9,309.39 crore in the quarter under review against Rs 9,642.80 crore a year ago.

Consolidated EBITDA of the company during the first quarter was at Rs 10,618 crore, 41.5 per cent higher compared with Rs 7,506 crore in the year-ago period. APL achieved an average plant load factor (PLF) of 60.1 per cent in the quarter compared with 58.6 per cent a year ago.

Zomato posts profit

Online food delivery firm Zomato Ltd on Thursday reported its first-ever consolidated profit after tax of Rs 2 crore in the April-June quarter of 2023-24, driven by a strong revenue growth.

The company had posted
a net loss of Rs 186 crore in
the same quarter last fiscal, Zomato said in a regulatory filing.

Consolidated revenue from operations in the first quarter of the current fiscal was at Rs 2,416 crore against Rs 1,414 crore in the year-ago period, it added.

Total expenses were higher at Rs 2,612 crore compared with Rs 1,768 crore in the same quarter a year ago. PTI
