One of the most important organs in the human body is the heart. However, heart disease is the leading cause of death worldwide. Nowadays, people are more aware of the major risk factors for heart disease, which include high blood pressure, smoking, elevated cholesterol levels and excessive weight. Managing these risks through a balanced lifestyle, regular exercise and dietary adjustments can significantly lower the risk of developing heart disease.

In an interview with Anandabazar Online discussing heart disease and its remedies, Dr. Ritwik Ghoshal, a consultant cardiologist at HP Ghosh Hospital, explained, “When there is a problem with the heart, it can generally be identified by four main symptoms. These include shortness of breath during walking or physical activity, palpitations, chest pain and occasional vision blackouts. Such symptoms can indicate four types of potential heart issues, such as coronary artery disease, valvular disease, current system abnormality or weakness of the heart muscle.”

Additionally, valve replacement procedures are now available.”

Therefore, overcome your fears, consult a physician and stay well.
