Patna Pirates, the champion of last season’s Pro Kabaddi Premier League, on Sunday announced Bollywood actress and martial arts exponent Neetu Chandra as their team community ambassador.
As a community ambassador, Neetu Chandra will be rooting for the team and be the face of the ever-growing Pirate fan community.
Greeting Neetu as the community ambassador of Patna Pirates, Rajesh V. Shah, the team owner, said: “We are delighted to welcome Neetu Chandra as the community ambassador of the Patna Pirates. As a role model for youth in Patna, she motivates youngsters to live a disciplined life and pursue their dream be it in sports, arts or any field of their choice. We are grateful that she will be cheering for the team during Patna matches which also is her home city.”
Neetu, born and raised in Patna, finished schooling from Notre Dame Academy and represented India in World Taekwondo Championship.
Speaking about her association with Patna Pirates as community ambassador, Neetu said: “I am excited to support the champions in my home city during their matches. I feel that Patna Pirates has made the city proud by consistently performing at the highest level of kabaddi and as a community ambassador, I wish them all the best.”
The sale of tickets for matches in Patna has started. Tickets can be purchased online on `www.bookmyshow.com` or at ticket counters located at the stadium. A special Patna Pirates-branded Canter will also travel across the city to ensure availability of tickets for the Patna leg of the Season V matches.
Patna Pirates is the only team to have reached the play-offs in all five seasons of Pro Kabaddi and consecutively retained the champions title in seasons III, IV and V.
Season VI will be played over 13 weeks against 11 formidable teams with Patna Pirates working hard to retain the championship title.
The home team, Patna Pirates, which reached the city on Saturday sweated out on the home ground on Sunday. The Patna Pirates’ first match will be against Jaipur Pink Panthers at Patliputra Sports Complex on October 26. Patna Pirates has been placed in Zone B and will compete against Bengal Warriors, Bengaluru Bulls, Telugu Titans, Tamil Thalaivas and UP Yoddha.
Patna Pirates chief executive officer Pawan S. Rana said: “Patna Pirates is thrilled to be back in Patna. We have always received overwhelming support from sports enthusiasts in the city. We hope to provide our thumping fans the most memorable moments from the Patna leg of the Season VI matches.”
The tickets are priced at Rs 500 each for general stands, Rs 800 each for premium stands, Rs 1,000 each for the VIP balcony, Rs 1,500 for the VIP stand and Rs 2,500 for the VVIP stand.
