Harsh Raj Lucky, 8, received a rousing welcome at Patna airport from family and fans on Sunday afternoon as he returned home for the first time since being awarded second runner-up in India’s Best Dramebaaz.
The reality programme is a talent show for children to show their acting capabilities. New Bypass Road resident Harsh, a student of Class IV at Trinity Global School, is a hero since his run at the show.
While the final episode was shot on October 3, it was telecast last Sunday.
If Harsh’s grandparents, uncles and aunts were at the airport to surprise him after he landed at 1.30pm, the boy had surprises in store on the Patna-bound flight too. Airhostesses and fellow passengers recognised him, said his mother Sangeeta Kumari.
“One of the passengers even approached us after we landed and said she had become Harsh’s fan. She was a little angry about his haircut. I had cut his hair for his appearance in an award ceremony on Saturday,” said Sangeeta.
She said Harsh got the opportunity to anchor part of the show with Dramebaaz co-contestant Garvit Pareek from Jaipur, and actors Ravi Dubey and Dheeraj Dhoopar. The award ceremony will be telecast on October 28.
Later in the day, education wing Kilkari Bihar Bal Bhavan also hosted a party for Harsh. The children welcomed Harsh by appearing in different costumes when the star attraction reached the Saidpur venue. They also took selfies with Harsh and the institute teachers.
Acting teacher at Kilkari, Ravibhushan Kumar Mukul came in a joker’s costume leaving the children and Harsh in splits. A PowerPoint presentation was also given to show Harsh’s journey from Kilkari to the sets of India’s Best Dramebaaz.
“Mukul Sir and everyone else treated me like a celebrity. I felt very good to be back among them today,” said Harsh. “I love Tiger Shroff and Ajay Devgn. I want to become an actor like them.”
Sangeeta said she would make Harsh rest for a few days, as the past few months had been very hectic on the 8-year-old. “We are going to Bhikhna Fatuha village. Harsh’s grandparents have a surprise planned for him,” she said.
