The Development Management Institute faculty member who has accused the institute’s director and dean of sexual harassment e-mailed chief minister Nitish Kumar’s office on Wednesday, alleging that evidence was being destroyed in the case.

The chief minister is president of the government-formed DMI Society that runs the premier institute.

“I wrote about my apprehensions about destruction of evidence by DMI director Hemnath Rao Hanumankar and dean Niraj Kumar, against whom I have registered an FIR on October 24 regarding sexual harassment,” the woman said. “The mail was marked to the chief minister, director-general of police and the Patna SSP (senior superintendent of police).”

Hemnath and Niraj have denied the charges and in turn alleged that the woman had lodged the case to pressure the institiute into regularising her appointment.

The woman has requested that the accused duo be arrested to ensure fair a investigation and to protect the evidence, especially CCTV footage, from being tampered.

“Both the accused have started tampering with evidences and documents,” she alleged. “I was listed on the DMI website as an assistant professor. I took a screenshot of it on October 26. My position was changed to ‘adjunct faculty’ after that and I took a screenshot on October 30. I attached both screenshots with my e-mail.”

She has also sent a complaint to All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

“I joined DMI in July 2016 and worked as an adjunct faculty for a few months before getting selected as a full-time faculty at the level of assistant professor through the proper channel of FRS (faculty recruitment seminar),” the woman said. “Adjunct faculty gets a consolidated amount, while as assistant professor I was receiving full-time salary and benefits. Moreover, my pay was revised and I also received my 7th pay commission arrears. I have attached all documentary proof with my letter to the AICTE.”

She alleged that when Hemnath became the DMI director, her name was surreptitiously moved to the the adjunct/visiting faculty list from regular faculty in admission brochures .

“I protested to the DMI governing board chairman, but was forced to take up the issue with the director who in turn said it was his discretion to do so. He said that if I wanted to be regularised and not undergo a fresh FRS, I will have to meet him at his flat at night. Later the dean also asked me to give in to the director’s demand and touched me without my consent,” she added.
