Patna: Housing and building construction minister Maheshwar Hazari appealed to former RJD ministers to shift out of their present government accommodation.

"They (the former RJD ministers) should not compel us to use force to get the government bungalows vacated," he said.

He dismissed the RJD's charge of victimising its former ministers, especially Tej Pratap Yadav, who had said that the houses they had been allotted were unfit to reside.

"They (Tejashwi and Tej Pratap) are first-term MLAs and have been given accommodation according to rules," he said.

The minister was unaware that Patna High Court has stayed the government's order asking them to shift out of their government bungalows.

A single judge bench headed by Justice Dinesh Singh stayed the government's orders on a petition filed by former RJD ministers on Tuesday.

He has listed the hearing of the case on November 6. The former ministers have dubbed the government's move as politically motivated, arbitrary and violation of rules.

The bungalows of former RJD ministers have been allotted to the BJP ministers. Though RJD chief Lalu Prasad had said he would not make an issue out of it, his two sons are yet to vacate their government accommodations.

The new government came to power in July. According to rules, former ministers are allowed to stay in the bungalows for a month after which they will be served notices reminding them that they have to vacate them. If the former ministers refuse to vacate, they are served legal notices and a warning of forceful eviction. All former ministers have been served legal notices.
