French and Korean people would soon be able to read the success story of Super 30 founder Anand Kumar.
The journey of Anand, who helps underprivileged students realise their dream of getting admission in Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) through his endeavour, Super 30, would be now described in French and Korean language as well.
After receiving an overwhelming response in English, Hindi, Marathi and Tamil languages, the book on the Super 30 founder and mathematician Anand is set to be published in French, Korean and Gujarati.
Eminent psychiatrist from Canada Biju Mathew, who wrote the book in association with Arun Kumar, said the publishers from Japan and Korea were going to bring the Japanese and Korean version in another six months.
"Penguin first published Super 30: Changing the World 30 Students in English last year and over 22,500 copies of it were sold while over 1 lakh copies of the Hindi version were sold. The Tamil and Marathi versions also got many takers. Super 30 founder Anand Kumar's story is an inspirational story and it must be told to as many people as it can be. Before meeting Anand, I got to know of him through newspapers in Canada about the huge work he was doing for the students from underprivileged sections of the society and invited him for a social function in Canada and his address impressed me so much that I decided to write a book on him. I am happy that now French and Korean publishers have also come forward to publish a book in their languages," said Mathew.
The author said the book was an example of how strong will and perseverance could help one overcome the stiffest of odds, as Anand Kumar has proved.
"What the students of Super 30 have achieved tells a lot about the real silent social revolution, which has brought about generational change in many families," he added.
Mathew said he would also plan a sequel of the book after a few years. "But I am really thankful to the readers for the way they have appreciated the work based on a real-life story," he added.
Narrating his experience of book writing, he said it was the result of a three-year effort and a lot of groundwork and data analysis with Arun Kumar. "I came here a number of times, visited villages and places associated with Anand Kumar, talked to his family members and those of the Super 30 students to prepare the story," he added.
Talking about the interesting tidbits from Anand's life that would be mentioned in the books, Mathew said: "After the Super 30's success, many people came up with their personal problems to Anand. My book mentions this and it will be mentioned in the French and Korean versions as well."
"There is no dearth of talent. If I can help in honing some talent, I would be thankful to the Almighty for this opportunity," said Anand.
