The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has announced the commencement of the registration process for the fourth phase of the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) for the academic session 2025-26. Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) can submit their applications through the official website, ncte.gov.in/ITEP, from April 22 to May 21, with the deadline set at 11.59PM.
This initiative aligns with the guidelines outlined in the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), emphasising the pivotal role of teacher education in the educational landscape. HEIs seeking to offer ITEP programmes must adhere to NCTE norms and regulations.
The selection of HEIs will be conducted based on the criteria set forth in the National Council for Teacher Education (Recognition, Norms, and Procedure) Amendment Regulations, 2021. Evaluation parameters include National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) grades, National Institute of Ranking Framework (NIRF) ratings, institutional experience and duration of operation.
Institutions interested in participating in ITEP are encouraged to refer to the official notification for detailed eligibility requirements and application guidelines.
Prospective applicants are urged to review the notification carefully to understand the shortlisting criteria and submission deadlines.
