A three-day symposium on Imagining India @2047 through Innovation will be held at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras Research Park to align innovators with Vision 2047 on the 100th Independence Day.
The event, scheduled to be held from March 7 to 9, is a partnered venture of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), government of India; IIT Madras; and IIT Madras Research Park (IITMRP).
Jitendra Singh, Union minister of state, ministry of personnel, public grievances and pensions, is scheduled to inaugurate the event.
In a novel attempt, young IAS Officers, young faculty of IIT Madras and young entrepreneurs of the IIT Madras Incubation Cell (IITMIC) will be seen teaming up to bring out their sector-wise expertise and enterprising spirit and collectively brainstorm innovative solutions.
Ten key areas will be explored under the overarching themes of Research and Development, and Innovation and Digital Governance — Energy and Net Zero, Education, Healthcare and Assistive Technologies, Water,
Infrastructure and Communications, Transport and Mobility, Urbanisation and Housing, Rural Development and Agriculture, Fintech and Inclusion, and Information Security and Defence.
Each day will feature presentations by senior faculty and entrepreneurs to help evolve Vision 2047 under each key theme. Thematic presentations will be prepared as an outcome of the interactions within the forty cohorts aptly termed as nucleus.
The symposium will also provide all the delegates with an insight into the evolving technologies under each theme and the opportunity to ideate, conceptualize and strategize Vision 2047 with each other with Vision papers through years to come.
