Newly surfaced security camera footage shows an attack on a line of civilians outside a post office and shopping centre in Kharkiv, Ukraine, on Thursday. The video, verified by The New York Times, captures the impact of a projectile in a parking lot with dozens of civilians, who a local official said had been standing in line for humanitarian aid.
In the aftermath, people flee on foot and in vehicles. A photograph taken afterward shows at least one casualty. Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second largest city, has been the site of significant destruction since the start of the war.

Oleg Sinegubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, said on Telegram that at least six civilians had been killed and another 15 injured in the attack.

Last week, officials reported a similar attack on a line of people waiting for bread in Chernihiv. Video from that incident showed several bodies on the ground outside a grocery store.
