Woman killed in bike accident in Watgunge

A 28-year-old woman riding pillion on a motorcycle died after a vehicle hit the two-wheeler in Watgunge on Saturday night. Sapu Rabidas was declared dead at SSKM Hospital. Her husband Rajkumar Rabidas, who was riding the motorcyle, escaped unhurt, police said.

A man driving a car was injured after he allegedly lost control of the vehicle and collided with the median divider on EM Bypass on Saturday evening. Swapan Kumar Chowdhury, 64, a resident of Garia, was treated at and discharged from a hospital, police said.

RKM session

Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Narendrapur, has announced that this year’s session for Class XI will start in April, earlier than in the previous years, because the teachers have been finding it difficult to cover the Higher Secondary syllabus in detail. The school authorities said the newly admitted Class XI boys have to join hostels on April 19.
