Bengal BJP president and Midnapore MP Dilip Ghosh on Saturday said “Trinamul goons” had killed eight BJP supporters, including Bandhuprakash Pal in Murshidabad, and dared the chief minister to either book the killers or be prepared for marches to Nabanna and Lalbazar.

“Act fast on the Jiaganj triple murder and other political murder cases… We will soon march to Nabanna and Lalbazar,” Ghosh said while addressing a protest rally on Mayo Road in Calcutta.

Around 25km away in Barasat, Meghalaya governor Tathagata Roy went a step further and equated the Murshidabad triple murder with the assassination of Bangabandhu Mujibur Rahman and 18 members of his family on August 15, 1975. “The hacking of the teacher Bandhuprakash Pal’s eight-year-old son can only be matched with the murder of Mujibur Rahaman’s 10-year-old son Sheikh Russel, killed in a planned assassination of the entire family,” said Roy.
