Sealdah diversions

The first of the three-day traffic diversion following the closure of the Sealdah flyover passed without too many glitches on Friday.

The number of vehicles on some of the main roads, including APC Road and AJC Bose Road, was relatively low because of the national holiday on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and police didn’t have to implement all the proposed diversions.

The Sealdah flyover will remain shut till 6am on October 5 to facilitate the construction of a tunnel for East-West Metro.

“We will see the vehicular load on Saturday and decide accordingly,” an officer said.
