The Karunamoyee bus terminus and the New Town bus stand have more policemen, the officer said.

The cops have been asked to ensure that social distancing norms are followed inside the vehicles and everyone wears a mask, the officer said,

“They have been asked to get into the vehicles while maintaining the social distancing protocol. Those on the ground have also been instructed to ensure that two people do not sit side by side and dissuade people from standing in the aisle,” the officer said.

The cops have also been asked to make announcements over loud-hailers, asking people to ensure social distancing norms.

Jadavpur resident Kaushik Ghosh, who works at a medicine shop in Salt Lake, said a cop counted the passengers on a bus he boarded. “We were asked to maintain distance, keep our masks on and not to spit,” he said.
