Snicko spike gets Tim Paine, irks Australia

Australia were quite upset with the way skipper Tim Paine was given out on Monday at the MCG, with opener Matthew Wade emphasising the need for consistent implementation of the DRS.

Paine was given out on the basis of a Snicko spike, while there was no mark on Hot Spot.

“It looked pretty similar to the first ball of Day II — the one we actually referred. I think it was off Pujara. So from all reports and what I’ve seen, Snicko showed a similar thing.

"One was given out and one not out,” Wade said at a virtual media conference.
