Manchester United earned their second win over Brighton & Hove Albion in five days as they booked a place in the League Cup quarter finals with a 3-0 win at the Amex Stadium on Wednesday.

Scott McTominay headed in the opener shortly before half-time before Juan Mata and substitute Paul Pogba scored in the second half.

Holders Manchester City beat Burnley 3-0 thanks to a double from Raheem Sterling.

Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored his second hat-trick of the season as the Toffees outclassed West Ham United 4-1 at Goodison Park.

Relief for Real

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane said his side still needs to improve after riding their luck to beat Real Valladolid 1-0 at home on Wednesday.

Zidane brought on Marco Agsensio, Vinicius Junior and Dani Carvajal in the second half. Vinicius struck the winner soon after coming on, to the relief of Zidane.

Atletico Madrid were held goalless by Huesca.
