Like the other big names in the line-up, how Rishabh Pant fares with the bat in the middle order will also be crucial to India’s prospects in the T20 World Cup beginning next month in the UAE.

The dashing wicketkeeper-batsman, who will be leading Delhi Capitals in the second half of IPL 2021, thus lays emphasis on getting used to the conditions in the UAE. And if he succeeds with the bat for his franchise in the coming weeks, it will certainly keep him in good stead going into the T20 World Cup.

“It’s pretty hot here in UAE. I was trying to sit on the balcony during my quarantine as much as possible to get used to the conditions.

“Still, it felt quite hot when I took part in my first practice session. I’m just trying to get used to the conditions now and hopefully, I will be fully acclimatised with the conditions in the next few days,” Pant, attending his first training session with the Capitals on Friday after completing his quarantine period, said in a release issued by the franchise.

Pant, however, is optimistic of the Capitals continuing their consistent showing as they resume their IPL 2021 campaign on Wednesday in Dubai versus Sunrisers Hyderabad. With 12 points from eight matches so far, the Capitals are at the top of the table.

“Our ultimate goal is to win the trophy, but we are going to focus on our process. Hopefully, we can continue to play the way we did in the first half and can win the title this year,” the skipper said.
