Eden Gardens may host a couple of ODIs if the West Indies’ limited-overs tour of India goes ahead next month. The change has been necessitated by the surge in Covid-19 cases. Eden was earlier scheduled to host an ODI on February 12.

According to sources, Ahmedabad will host the first ODI, followed by the next two at the Eden on February 9 and 12. The Eden hosted its last international game in November 2021 — the third and final T20I between India and New Zealand.

The India-South Africa ODI, in March 2020, had to be called off due to the pandemic.

The T20Is are scheduled to be held in Cuttack, Visakhapatnam and Thiruvananthapuram on February 15, 18 and 20, respectively. Those three matches are also likely to be held at a single venue now.

The BCCI is still in the process of finalising the revised fixtures. This is being done to minimise the risks associated with travelling from one venue to another. Strict bio-bubble protocols will also be in place.
