Australia seamer Josh Hazlewood is concerned about the Covid-19 outbreak in his Indian Premier League franchise Chennai Super Kings in the United Arab Emirates, he said on Monday.

Hazlewood is currently a part of the Australia squad for the limited-overs series in England, where Aaron Finch and his men will play three T20Is at the Ageas Bowl followed by as many ODIs in Manchester.

After the England tour, he is expected to join CSK in the UAE, where the IPL is due to begin on September 19.

The BCCI issued a statement the other day, saying that two players and 11 other people tested positive for Covid-19 after arriving in the UAE.

“At the franchise, we have a WhatsApp group, with all the information that comes through. It’s obviously a little bit of a concern. You ideally would have no cases,” Hazlewood told reporters.
