A few cricket terms demystified before the World Cup Final

Just a few hours left until the epic clash of titans unfolds before our eyes. India vs. Australia in the World Cup 2023 final — can this Sunday get any better? Right before the showdown in Ahmedabad, let's dive into some cricket lingo and unveil a freshly brewed term for Rohit Sharma:

Beehive: A pictorial representation with the use of a diagram to denote the number of balls from an individual bowler passing a batsman

Bye: Extra scores in the same manner as normal runs. Except, the ball hasn’t touched any part of the batsman or his gears

Devil’s Number: What’s 13 runs short of a century? 87, a number considered unlucky in Australian cricket 

Fruit Salad: A variety of delivery techniques by a bowler, commonly used in T20 cricket to keep the batsman on their toes

Pegs: Don’t ask how many. In cric term, it means the stumps.

And last but not the least- 

Roball: Oh Captain, the selfless captain! Of course there had to be a term named after Rohit Sharma. Roball refers to “A style of batting where a selfless captain plays highly aggressively in order to ease the pressure on the rest of the team” according to Lucknow SuperGiants, and we can’t agree more.
