Bhuvan Bam’s ‘Taaza Khabar’ is fresh and binge worthy

The YouTuber aces his OTT acting debut with a powerful performance

If you haven’t watched Taaza Khabar already, watch it now. Not for its highly bingeable runtime, which manages to pack in a lot of plot into just six episodes. Not even for the perfect masala tone that blends action and humour. But for the man at the centre, who shows how dreams don’t need to be contained by scale, but amplified by audacity. 

Bhuvan Bam is the heart and soul of the webseries on Disney Plus Hotstar, which tells the tale of Vasant Gawde’s meteoric rise in society. Bam’s earnestness in his portrayal is what stands out, with Gawde’s daring dreams possibly mirroring the actor’s. The rest of the cast ably supports him, elevating what could have been an otherwise predictable plot into engaging television. Topping most streaming charts, this could be the weekend watch you were waiting for!
