Rainbow Jelly’s star attraction is undoubtedly its plot. The film is a food fantasy film for children and tells the tale of Ghoton, Gondaria and Pari Pishi, who with their own identities weave a magical tale. Ghoton, played by Mahabrata Basu, is a young boy who battles with the trauma of being an orphan, living with his maternal uncle Gondaria (played by Kaushik Sen) who is not the best company.

His misery turn into a miracle as Pari Pishi (played by Sreelekha Mitra) enters his life with her seven dishes that are an absolute game changer. Her dishes that taste sour, sweet, salty, bitter and alike represent respective character traits like repent, love, sad and more. These dishes change Gondaria’s behaviour towards Ghoton. The finale dish is Rainbow Jelly, which brings a paradigm shift in the story by unearthing the unthinkable. What’s that? You have to watch the film to know.

Rainbow Jelly is now streaming on Hoichoi. The film also stars Santilal Mukherjee as Anandi, Anumegha Banerjee as Poppins, Daminee Basu as Poppin’s Mother. Watch out for the two debutants — Mahabrata and Anumegha in the film.
