Guess who is set to play Devi Durga on Hoichoi this year?

Hint: The actress was seen essaying a powerful role in ‘Sampurna’

Mohishashur Mordini — Mahalaya wouldn’t be complete without the worship of Devi Durga. Each year, several popular celebrities portray Maa Durga in Mohishashur Mordini, and this year it’s Rajnandini Paul. The trained dancer, as Maa Durga in the teaser released by Hoichoi, has been receiving rave reviews. With Aigiri Nandini playing in the background, Rajnandini embodies Durga, establishing the triumph of good over evil and setting the mood for Mahalaya and Pujo.

Rajnandini has portrayed powerful, women-centric roles throughout her career. She played a domestic-violence survivor, who fought for her rights in Sampurna on Hoichoi. Her performances as Jhelum in Mr. Kolkata, Chandrabati Devi in Ek Je Chhilo Raja, and Durga in Asur further showcase her strength. Rajnandini is also the daughter of veteran actress and danseuse Indrani Dutta.
