Christmas Special: Celebrate love with ‘Single All the Way’

This rom-com captures the woes of finding a partner who fits in with both you and your family

If you’re looking for a heartwarming family watch, Netflix’s Single All the Way is your pick. The simple plot centres around Peter, who persuades his best friend, Nick, to pretend to be his boyfriend during a trip home for the holidays. As expected, the ruse becomes complicated when feelings get in the way. The film perfectly encapsulates how hard it is to find a partner that your family approves of, and the entire cast shines through with their earnest performances. While it doesn’t lack some cheesy cliches, the sweet and frothy treatment by director Michael Mayer makes it a great holiday watch.
