Ever since Netflix unveiled the poster of Amar Singh Chamkila, the hype has only grown bigger. The newly released trailer has sent fans into a tizzy, with Diljit Dosanjh acing the look and mannerisms of the prolific singer, and Parineeti Chopra bringing equal authenticity to the portrayal of his wife, Amarjot. The clip also touched upon the conflict over his perceived vulgarity, which ultimately led to his death at the age of 27. Imtiaz Ali’s direction, aided by A. R. Rahman’s music promises to make this a celebration of Chamkila’s illustrious life. Sing along on April 12 when this premieres on Netflix!
