Gyan Manch to host a unique blend of cinema and theatre

‘In the Name of’ will comprise a play that transcends into a film, with a message of love at its core

If you enjoy cinema and theatre, Stage 2 Screen is bringing a unique immersive event to Gyan Manch on January 20, curated just for you. Titled In the Name of, this is a unique blend of the two art forms. The evening will commence with a play called We are safe here, followed by the screening of Atash, an independent short film that has garnered acclaim at the Lift-Off Global Film Festival. While the play is centred around two friends who are torn apart, but try to overcome their distance with love, the film deals with a love story set amidst communal conflict. At the heart of both productions lies a simple message: love transcends boundaries. 

“The transition between the two mediums will be seamless, and this is the first time that theatre and cinema are converging in such a manner,” said Antara Raychaudhuri, the director of Atash.
