The world’s widest reaching LGBTQIA+ digital campaign is celebrating its 10th  year! Five Films for Freedom has been sharing diverse stories for the past decade, and this year, the campaign will bring five new short films from the Philippines, India, Spain, the UK, and the USA, in partnership with The Queer Muslim Project.

British Council and BFI Flare: London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival are working together to conduct 12 screenings across 10 Indian cities between March 13 and 24. They have also partnered with JioTV and JioTV+ to bring these films to OTT audiences across India.

The Kolkata leg will feature a screening and meet-&-greet with British Council India’s director of Arts, Ruchira Das, on March 15 at their Camac Street address. You can RSVP for the event here.

“Throughout the 10-year journey of Five Films For Freedom, we’ve been able to reach over 23 million viewers globally with these remarkable films. We take pride in our ongoing commitment to supporting this initiative, which not only sheds light on new narratives but also fosters new connections and understanding,” said Alison Barrett of the British Council.
