“The story you have to believe to see…” is how John Krasinski has introduced his next with Ryan Reynolds, and the trailer lives up to the introduction. IF, with Ryan as The Man Upstairs and Cailey Fleming as Bea is a fantasy comedy that has to be on the watchlist.

Remember how we all that our imaginary friends, our dolls and stuffed toys, who we now touch lightly, snuggle to catch a whiff of childhood, but cannot go back to? Well, IF gaps that bridge with a tale of make belief pals becoming a reality. IF stands for Imaginary Friends, and in the animated film, Bea, a young girl, and her neighbour The Man Upstairs share a common power — of seeing the imaginary friends of people.

IF is releasing in January, 2024. The project that’s directed by John also stars Fiona Shaw, Bobby Moynihan, Alan Kim and Liza Colón-Zayas.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Jon Stewart, Maya Rudolph and other noted names have given their voice in the film. IF also marks the coming together of John and Steve Carell, who have previously worked together in The Office.
