Be it in school or as a leisurely read, we have all read some of Ruskin Bond’s work, either his short stories or his novels. On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, Bond shared a heartfelt message in which he spoke about the role of teachers in building our society. He said that one day is not enough to celebrate the contribution of teachers. The author also recalled fun memories from his boarding school days that even included caning at some point, something every boarder will remember. Bond also shared how, in his school days, a class wouldn’t have more than 20-25 students so the teacher would know each student individually, something that isn’t happening today in large classes. Check out his message for the teachers and also consider picking up his most recent book – Hold On to Your Dreams: A Letter to Young Friends, which could be an inspiring read for younger readers.
