The 22-year-old shooter from Jhajjar, Haryana, was left in tears at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics because of a weapon malfunction that kept her from winning a medal at her first Olympics. She even considered quitting the sport. However, her determination paid off as she finally made it to the Olympic podium. Manu will also take part in the women’s 25m pistol event on August 2.

My Kolkata joins the whole of India in cheering for Manu and hopes she carries on with her fine form. Go for gold, Manu. Well done!
