Want to be an astronaut? Take guidance from ISRO Chairman Somanath S!

The aerospace engineer did a live session on ISRO’s Instagram page

Have you ever harboured dreams of floating in the limitless galaxy? ISRO Chairman Somanath S. recently guided youngsters on how to pursue this dream in an Instagram live session.

Somanath said that it was integral to be a competent fighter pilot in order to realise this dream, and astronauts were required to be both mentally and physically fit. He also said that a science background with expertise in space technology was also a very important competence for aspiring astronauts. 

He also explained the Pushpak’s significance as a wind-reusable rocket. ISRO is developing this rocket to demonstrate a fully-reusable launch vehicle, and to use it as a platform for deploying longer scientific missions on the orbit.
