India’s T20I vice-captain reclaims the top all-rounder spot, while the latter makes a remarkable leap in the batting rankings
Before India takes on Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the Indian cricketing community has been enjoying some blitzkrieg action from the recent T20 International series against South Africa. The Men in Blue claimed a brilliant 3-1 victory in the four-match series. But it’s not just the win that fans are celebrating. Several Indian cricket stars have risen up the ICC ranking tables, like Hardik Pandya, who delivered stellar performances with both bat and ball, has reclaimed the top spot as the No.1 Men’s T20I all-rounder. Also, Tilak Varma’s explosive form grabbed headlines as the young left-handed batter smashed back-to-back centuries in the 3rd and 4th games, becoming the youngest Indian to score T20 centuries. His exceptional showing saw him leap an impressive 69 places to secure 3rd in the batting rankings.
Sanju Samson also made waves, climbing 17 places to reach 22nd in the batting rankings after scoring centuries in the 1st and 4th matches of the series.
