Deepika’s ‘Piku’ throwback will make you misty eyed

The actress remembered Irrfan Khan and shared an anecdote about Amitabh Bachchan

Irrfan Khan’s untimely demise is a grief of every cinephile, Bollywood film buff and Irrfan Khan fan. It’s as personal as it is collective — a community grieving the loss of an artiste par excellence. Deepika Padukone’s simple yet heart touching tribute to her friend and colleague from Piku taps into that feeling — a feeling of the passing of someone near, familiar, loved. The actress and mother-to-be shared a throwback photo from the Kolkata leg of shooting of the Shoojit Sircar directed film. 

Deepika also cracked a joke on Amitabh Bachchan, who played the role of Bhaskar Banerjee in the movie. “He loves telling everyone how much I eat!” wrote the actress in the caption, sharing an endearing anecdote about the camaraderie that they share.
