Winter is the season of festivities, and in Kolkata it is also the season of fairs. From Boi Mela to handicraft expos — the city comes together to celebrate art and culture in chilly outdoor venues. This December, experience the rich culture of rural India in Kolkata at the Karigar Haat. The art and culture festival brings to you the best of handicrafts, handlooms, organic products and more from all over the country. More than 150 artisans are going to participate in the winter fair to showcase products ranging from crafts, textiles, home decor and accessories to food and ingredients. While you shop, enjoy musical performances by several Indian classical and folk artistes like Tanmoy Bose of Tabla Inc, Kabir singers Kanhaiyalal Siju and Mooralala Marwada, singers Satyaki Banerjee, Kavish Seth. Folk fusion band Duniya featuring Shamik Chatterjee, Dipannita Acharya, and Ludo; and band Borno Anonyo will be performing too. So be there to witness art, culture and music come together in one place. Dates: December 18 - 24
