Cricket USA has the Master Blaster’s backing
My Kolkata is excited to see how Sachin furthers cricketing culture in a new country
A billion dreams soared every time a short, curly haired man walked out to bat in the blue jersey. For the past three decades, Sachin Tendulkar has taken Indian cricket to newer heights, both on and off the pitch. The Master Blaster is set to do the same for America now, by joining the ownership group of the National Cricket League (NCL) in the USA. Sachin issued a statement, explaining how excited he was to join the NCL’s vision for creating a world-class cricket ecosystem in the country. He is the latest in an ever-expanding group of cricket legends to have joined NCL, including Sunil Gavaskar, Zaheer Abbas, Wasim Akram, Dilip Vengsarkar, Vivian Richards, Venkatesh Prasad and Sanath Jayasuriya. These legends will be mentoring and coaching the country’s upcoming talents.
The announcement comes in the wake of USA’s growing strides to emerge as a prominent global cricketing nation, augmented by their hosting of the year’s Men’s T20 World Cup. We’re excited to see how Sachin furthers cricketing culture in a new country!
