Linkin Park welcomes Emily Armstrong as new co-vocalist and unveils new album, ‘From Zero’, after seven years
They also released the lead single from their upcoming album ‘From Zero’, set to drop in November
Linkin Park has unveiled their new single, The Emptiness Machine, marking the band’s first release in seven years. The track debuted during a special live performance in Los Angeles and is the lead single from their upcoming album, From Zero, set to release on November 15 via Warner Records. The event also introduced Emily Armstrong of Dead Sara as the band’s new co-vocalist and Colin Brittain as their new drummer. Armstrong and Brittain join longtime members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix, and Joe Hahn, who began working together again in recent years.
The song and music video commence with Shinoda starting the song with the first verse which brings a sense of nostalgia. The second verse is taken off by Armstrong which although sounds refreshing, has that staple screech that Bennington used to do.
Alongside the album announcement, Linkin Park revealed a six-date arena tour with stops in major cities like Los Angeles, New York, London, and Seoul. The Los Angeles event, featuring the band’s first live performance with Armstrong and Brittain, was livestreamed and available online for 24 hours. This new era follows the band’s 2017 album, One More Light, and continues their legacy after the loss of lead vocalist Chester Bennington. The news comes shortly after the release of their Papercuts (Singles Collection 2000-2023), which highlighted their greatest hits.
