Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars team up for nostalgic new track, ‘Die With a Smile’
The duo’s surprise collaboration channels 1960s’ vibes with a modern twist
Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars have joined forces in their latest collaboration, Die With a Smile, which was released on August 16. The music video takes fans on a nostalgic journey, channelling the classic style of Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner. Set against the backdrop of a 1960s musical variety show, Gaga and Mars wear matching red-and-blue outfits that feel right at home on the Grand Ole Opry stage. With Mars strumming the guitar and Gaga at the piano, her blonde hair teased to perfection and a cigarette hanging from her lips, the duo passionately deliver their existential new track.
As a bonus treat for fans, Die With a Smile was performed live for the first time at Bruno Mars’ concert in Los Angeles on August 15, just a day before the official release. The song’s announcement came less than 12 hours before it dropped, with Gaga teasing it on Instagram, hinting at her upcoming seventh album. This collaboration adds another layer of excitement for fans eagerly awaiting new music from both artistes.
