Niranjan Mondal’s ‘Muri Ghonto’ blends intrigue with comedy

Niranjan Mondal aka @laughtersane is one of our favourite Bengali comedy creators on Instagram, known for his absurdist takes on being Bong and his elaborate arsenal of characters and costumes. His latest project is a reel series titled, MuriGhonto, which blends comedy with a captivating murder mystery. So far, two parts have been released. While the first sees Niranjan being murdered by a masked figure, the second shows a detective questioning his family, with some brilliant black comedy emerging out of the process. From finding the source of a lipstick-smeared cigarette butt, to understanding if the boy’s parents had an arranged marriage or not, this series has viewers hooked with its slick production, tight writing and sharp performances. But the question remains, who is the killer? Keep watching to find out.
