Planning a big date for Valentine’s Day? Well then, you must look your absolute best! Arti Nayar is here to share some unique makeup tips with you.

Tip 1: Embrace an all-out highlight

A decisively placed stroke of highlighter can supercharge drained, dull-looking skin in a jiffy. 

“When you’re going out for a date or to a Valentine’s Day party, highlighters will shine through the night. For an all-over glow, apply a cream-based formula on the high points of your face — across your cheekbones, down your nose and on your brow bones,” says Nayar. 

Tip 2: Keep it simple with monochromatic makeup

Think of applying the same shade on your eyes, cheeks and lips for a look that is easier to pull off than you think, especially if your outfit is colourful and bold. 

“Try a creamy pigment as they’re more malleable — even finger application works for this kind of makeup,” says the artist. 

Tip 3: Play with bold eye makeup

“Experimenting with bright colours and fun textures can be a great mood-booster, especially if you’re playing with saturated shades that’ll brighten up your eyes,” says Nayar. 

Try using an earthy tone to create a smokey eye instead of black. For a fun addition, add crystals on the sides of your lids.
