Indulge in Awadhi dishes by chef Rehman Mujeebur of Lucknow
Oceanic is hosting The Aromas of Awadh food festival
If you love Awadhi cuisine, then you have the opportunity to taste some authentic Awadhi food right here in Kolkata. The special dishes will be whipped up by chef Rehman Mujeebur, who hails from Lucknow. Chef Rehman's great-grandfather, the late Abdul Raheem Quraishi, was associated with the Royal Kitchen of Awadh and most of the recipes that the chef follows today were handed down to him by his family. The ‘Aromas of Awadh’ festival at Oceanic, Peerless Hotel Kolkata, will feature culinary delights like Galawati Kebab, Lazeez Nazaqati Boti, Murgh Tikka Mirza Hasnu, Nelofar Pomfret, Dum Ke Machli, Dust Aur Nalli Ke Nehari, Dum Chaanp Kebab Masala, Mukummal Raan Khasgi, Paneer Hazrat Mahal and more. Speaking about his lineage, chef Rehman Mujeebur said, “Growing up with my grandparents, I would spend my time listening to stories of Nawabs, their lifestyle, culture and the art of cooking in Lucknow. I was very curious about the food and learnt traditional cooking methods from my grandfather.”
