Chef Ranveer Brar takes us through the breads of Kashmir
In his new podcast on YouTube, ‘Story of Unique Kashmiri Breads’, he shared fascinating tales behind these delicious baked delights
When Ranveer Brar talks about food or food traditions, you know it’s going to be a good one. The chef effortlessly narrates stories of cuisine that keep you engaged and leave you a little more informed. In a recent video podcast on YouTube, he delved into the unique story of Kashmiri breads, exploring not only the culture of bread consumption in Kashmir but also breaking down each variety.
He describes the tradition of the tandoor, explaining how locals gather to buy and enjoy different breads based on the changing temperature of the tandoor. “As the temperature of the tandoor falls accordingly, different breads are baked,” he wrote, explaining that Kashmiris eat bread throughout the day. He then listed and explained the different unique breads, like Girda, Kashmiri Doughnuts, Baqerkhani, Katlam and more. After going into details Ranveer ended the video by saying, “In Kashmir, you never waste heat when you get it.”
