Excited to embark on a literary journey? Head straight to the 47th International Kolkata Book Fair, kicking off today! Meet your favourite authors, join literary discussions, and explore over 1,000 stalls with the help of a digital map accessible through QR codes. Don’t miss the chance to participate in the ‘Book Bumper Library Lottery’ for a shot at winning book gift coupons worth Rs 25,000. Additionally, to keep up with the theme country, which is the United Kingdom, a replica of London's Tower Bridge has been installed. A replica of Kolkata’s Bethune School will also be erected at the venue to commemorate its 175th anniversary.
The fair will be inaugurated at Boi Mela Prangan in Salt Lake by chief minister Mamata Banerjee in the presence of British High Commissioner to India, Alex Ellis.
